Air fryers are a great way of cooking healthy meals since you only need to use very little fat or none at all. Many people use their air fryers mainly for making French fries, but there are many other great recipes you can make with this amazing cooking appliance. Here are three great recipes for an air fryer that you will be able to make fast and with minimum effort.
Crispy chicken wings
As already stated, air fryers are not just for making fries. While you can make them as a side dish, there is no need for you to switch to another cooking appliance for making the main dish, in this case, perfect, crispy chicken wings. Usually, when you fry chicken wings in a pan, there is quite a mess, since hot oil tends to jump and spread all over, including on your hands. Now you no longer have to prepare yourself like you are going to war when you decide to make delicious chicken wings for dinner.
Also, if you do not like your chicken wings to be doused in fat, an air fryer is clearly a much better solution. You just need to sprinkle your favorite spices on both sides of each chicken wing and place all of them inside the air fryer (the number of chicken wings you can make depends on the size of your fryer). The machine will take care of the rest, and you will enjoy a much healthier version of crispy chicken wings.
Eating enough vegetables can always be a challenge, especially when you need to convince your kids to eat them, too. Steamed vegetables are not particularly tasty, no matter how healthy they are, so your battles may just have disappointing success rates. However, if you switch to roasted veggies, you may just turn the odds in your favor. In winter, you can opt for a combination of parsnips, celery stalks, onions and butternut squash. All the veggies have to be cut into relatively equal pieces and seasoned with thyme, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Place them all inside the basket of your air fryer and let them cook there for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally and notice when they turn brown, as that is your signal that they are close to being done. Use this as a side dish for steaks and enjoy the amazing taste of roasted vegetables.
Shrimps wrapped in bacon
For this recipe, you will need as many shrimps you think you and your family will have and an equal number of bacon strips. Wrap each shrimp (peeled and deveined) with a piece of bacon, as tightly as possible without squashing it. Let the wrapped shrimp rest in the fridge, and preheat the air fryer. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes and serve them hot. Even for a more pretentious dinner, this recipe is bound to make a sensation, and no one will suspect that you spent so little time preparing them.
